Ohaegbu Happiness came from a family of 8 ( 3 brothers and 5 sisters and hails from Umuekpu Agwa in Oguta local government Imo state, studying Medical laboratory Technology.

Be honest for a minute. When you look in the mirror, do you like the person you’ve become? If I asked you to describe yourself, would you have nice things to say? I find it incredibly sad that a lot of people don’t believe in themselves. And I find it even more upsetting that most people aren’t doing what they love because they don’t have enough self-belief.

So we have to start by dealing with the first  reason why  you are still very poor today

 

                                                       LACK OF SELF- BELIEF

So many people seem to have lost their drive and will to succeed. They’ve given up on following their dreams, and in doing that they’ve given up on themselves.

Do you remember how you felt when you finished school? You probably believed that the world was your oyster and you were genuinely excited about your future. You wanted to live your best life and achieve great things. But more often than not, if you fast-forward to present day, you’ve settled for a mediocre job and a mediocre life. Why? Because you are terrified of failure. 

You see, the moment you experience your first dose of failure something changes in the wiring of your brain- either it forces you to try harder, or it makes you back down. Sadly, the latter is the case for most people.

                                                       LOST OF HOPE

Suddenly, the thought of pursuing your dream doesn’t seem realistic, and so you settle for a boring 9-5 job instead. You do the same thing day in and day out and never seem to find any satisfaction, any purpose, or any meaning.

One day you’re going to be reminded of that dream you once had. The one thing that could have truly made you happy. But you stopped believing in yourself and now you’re living a life very different to the one you could have been living.

Well I’m here to remind you that dreams don’t have an expiry date. And if you have just a little bit of self-belief, the sky really would be your limit.

Negativity holds you back and keeps you from achieving the things that you are more than capable of achieving.

 

                                                           WEAK TO TRY 

The secret to success in 2020, is an unshakable belief in yourself and your abilities.

Set yourself a goal of doing something that scares you every month. This should be something that pushes you, motivates you, and challenges you.

Keep on pushing, and let go of the fear that’s holding you back! Some of the greatest leaders of our time have faced tremendous hurdles and obstacles, and yet they didn’t let these setbacks derail them from achieving what they had set out to do. 

As the late Nelson Mandela once said: “May your choices reflect your hopes, not your fears."

At the end of the day, winners never quit and quitters never win. And if you believe in yourself enough, then nothing can stop you from making things happen...in 2020.

AM 16 years old. I desperately need your advice. I am not living with my parents due to some circumstances.

My problem is masturbation, and I have been doing this for two or three years now. This act is affecting me seriously. All I think is sex. My concentration has dropped drastically and my academic work is suffering.

I use to be very intelligent, but not anymore. I have resorted to examination malpractices which I feel so bad about.

Realising the fact that you need help is good. We must commend your courage for sharing your problem with us. It takes a lot of strength to summon such courage to do so, bearing in mind that masturbation is a secret habit that victims are ashamed of talking about freely.

Most teenagers, males or females, are confronted with the same challenge, but they find it difficult to open up. The reason is that at the stage of adolescence which starts from the age of 13 to 19 years young boys start going through changes in their bodies. Physically and emotionally, this is also applicable to girls as well due to the hormonal changes.

Feelings come to play when a young boy or girl starts thinking that he or she is in love with a particular girl whereas in the actual sense, it is just mere infatuation or crush. Now a child that does not understand why he or she is feeling in a certain way might go the wrong way because of lack of proper information from home to start with at an early stage.

Masturbation can be described as self-stimulation of one’s genital to the point of orgasm. This is one widespread struggle of adolescence which some see as a joke. Some silently talk about it among friends, while some are so ashamed to be related with the act.

The issue of masturbation is not only centred on males. Some females are also involved in the act as well, but the difference is that the ratio of boys that masturbate is more than the girls.

Teenage stage is a remarkable period of physical and emotional changes in a person’s life. Therefore, the sudden changes all teenagers experience often surprise and confuse them because of little or no information given. They are most times not adequately equipped to understand and tackle the sex urges as the play up which is natural due to their current stage in life.

In addressing the issue at hand which is masturbation, it will be proper for us to list out the possible reasons why teenage boys, for example, masturbate.

               Physiological changes: 

This is as a result of the hormonal changes that take place at this period. Feelings start driving wide, so lack of the right information on how to deal with such feelings can actually lead to masturbation which, if not addressed, can affect other aspects of the person’s life.

              Lack of proper sex education. 

This is a situation whereby a child is not properly informed about the changes that will occur in his body both externally and internally at a certain age, that is, what to expect and how to go about it. Once there’s a gap, the child, in the process of seeking answers or solutions, might be guided wrongly into masturbation.

However, some adults have this notion that talking to children about sexuality, sex and relationship is actually encouraging them to put the act into practice, forgetting that knowledge is power. On the other hand, some children to view any awareness of their bodies particularly sexuality as bad. This simply leaves some children unprepared for sexual urges and surges they encounter as adolescence.

Other factors are the company they keep: The type of friends they keep and what they do (peer pressure).Rumours and secrecy can also lead a teenager into the act of masturbation. Masturbation is like a drug addict hungry for his next fix when to address.

THE FIRST TWO ARE VERY RELEVANT  AND PARENTS SHOULD TEACH THEIR CHILDREN THESE TRUTH

1. *NEVER MOCK YOUR HUSBAND.*

Your husband is the head of your family. This is God's order. Mocking him is defying the laws of God.

Micah mocked David her husband. She called him a " vain fellow shamelessly uncovering himself". When you begin to call your husband names, you are in for serious trouble. 

Her womb was closed. She never had a child for David.

When you mock your husband, it will adversely affect the innocent children. (Read 2 Samuel 6)

2. *NEVER MOCK YOUR FATHER or MOTHER.*

The Bible is very clear and explicit. Reuben went to sleep with his father's concubine and he ended up with a curse that many of us are still suffering today.. This is mockery.

Absalom chased his father away from the throne. He died unceremoniously.

Whatever you do to bring shame to your father is mockery.

Mothers, never instigate your children against their father. It will be too dangerous for them. Whatever disagreements you have with their father stops with you. Do not extend  it.

Remember, the Bible only talks about the Father's Blessing. Let the heart of their father bless the children. Malachi 4:6 says... whosoever separates children from their father, upon them shall be a curse. (NLT)

If you are guilty of this, please humble yourself and go and make things right with your father. If you don't, life will be a struggle for you. Be wise.

3. *NEVER MOCK A TRUE SERVANT OF GOD.*

Some youths came out of nowhere and began to chant a mockery song against Elisha. They were torn into pieces by bears.

I met an elderly man in Benin who shared his experience. He said, on the morning Archbishop Benson Idahosa's death was announced, he was so excited because he hated the man with passion. He said he sent for two of his friends and they began to toast to Archbishop's death. While still making noise and bantering in his sitting room, some people ran into his house and told him a gravel tipper had just knocked down his son on his way to lectures at Uniben. The young undergraduate died on the spot.

The elderly man in his seventies said..... 'I have learnt never to mock a true servant of God'.

I have a praying group. One of the women there approached me to come lead the husband to Christ on his death bed. In humility, the man surrendered his life to Jesus and there was an aura of peace on his embattled face. Before he breathed his last, he said...... *"All my life, I have mocked servants of God. We are 5 friends and all of them died this way. I am the last of them but now I have made peace with God"* 

Never join anyone to mock true servants of God. Job said, what I do not know, I searched out. 

This is the wisdom of great people. Wise people do not despise SPIRITUAL DIGNITARIES.
